Richard Susskind & Company are delighted to announce that we have let Unit 406 of Metropolitan Wharf, Wapping to Paul Haslam on behalf of UK Real Estate. Its been a great week for our favourite Victorian warehouse conversion as you may have seen in this week’s press.
The Evening Standard, that distributes over 600,000 copies every weekday, published a double spread feature in their property section entitled ‘Wapping’s magnificent past is the secret to its exciting future’.
With a vibrant maritime history shaping the area, its prospects look more gentile as up until 1830, it was used as an execution dock for pirates to meet their fate. Nowadays the former tea warehouse is a listed eight storey described by ES as Wapping’s ‘finest’. The article regards the décor as ‘worthy of a Kate Moss fashion shoot’ with its stripped back fabric of exposed brickwork and cast iron columns.
Recently refurbished it has attracted an influx of new tenants. With 2,826 Sq Ft, the furniture designers Paul Haslam will have a spacious environment to fill with their bespoke designs. Known for their typically English designs, this family-run business looks now set to take their first London base. Positioned alongside other great designers thanks to the efforts of Pilcher Hershman and ourselves, Metropolitan Wharf is shaping up as hub for creativity.
There is still space in this impressive converted warehouse, to chat to our agents call on 0207 831 8311 and you can check the availability .
